On Relocation

As I type, I hear the whir of drills and the buzz of saws downstairs. My new office is almost complete. The office is not going to be terribly glamorous. It's actually our garage. Baby number 2 is evicting me from the room where I've worked and written for the past two and a half years.

It's not all bad though. While this won't be your high-end, state-of-the-art renovation (we're using IKEA flooring, Home Depot track lighting, etc.), it should be quiet and cozy. What more could a writer ask of a retreat? Plus it's environmentally friendly. We've even sound-proofed with insulation made from recycled blue jeans. Heck, I'm actually looking forward to the move this weekend.
